Considering the Flood/Inundation Losses to be expected, we recommend all Partners and/or Policy Holders to take below precazutionary measures and Loss Mitigation Measures to avoid/reduce to possible damages:
Storage/Stock/Building:
• Please move all the stocks kept in open to inside the warehouse or closed premises.
• Please use pallets for storage of stocks above the baselevel height.
• Please check, fasten, and/or maintain the roof sheets to avoid any ingress of rainwater.
• Identify the low-lying points and water entry exit points to avoid the entry of flood/inundated water into premises. • Please avoid storing any material/stock in temporary structure/shed.
• Please cover the sheds/Godown/warehouses from all sides with tarpaulin/water-proof material to avoid rainwater entry from any openings/gaps.
• In case of any damages to stocks, Move the undamaged stocks to safe location as safety measure.
• Also, please segregate the damaged/undamaged/partially damaged items separately to avoid aggravation of loss. Plant & Machinery:
• If machinery is not production related items, please disconnect from power and store in safe location.
• If water affected, Please “do not switch on/turn on” the machineries until OEM verification and confirmation.
• Please do not park /maintain the moveable machines under the electric
• Take all reasonable precautions to mitigate the loss (such as drying, remove the water from floors, close the damaged roof sheet areas, etc.) Transit of Goods/Machinery:
• Inform the transporter/logistics department to avoid any loading/unloading operations in open places especially during the cyclonic period and/or while rainfall.
• Please ensure that, the base of the truck should be covered with waterproof material to avoid ingress of water from bottom/tyres. Please ensure that, Packaging/lashing should be adequate to withstand any moisture and/or water ingress.
